10 years later than China! Apple will launch an online store in India on September 23

Apple will open its own online shop in India next Wednesday (23rd), according to the India’s “Economic Times” article on the 18th. Last year, a law in India substantially relaxed the provision that single-brand retailers distribute goods exclusively via physical and online platforms to Indian customers. Apple would thereby become the first international business to open an online store in India and a physical store afterwards. International firms had to open retail stores until India eased rules last year, before they could sell online.

The online shop will have a wide range of items from iPhone to Mac, as well as customer support services in English and Hindi, according to Bloomberg news on the 18th. Apple has expected to open two physical stores in Mumbai and Bangalore, according to the Bloomberg report last month.
