4G investment has been frozen, but you can still rest assured that it still takes 3-4 years to grow 5G

Domestic 5G started coming out in 2020. Did you update your smartphone? At present, 5G is being aggressively implemented by the four main carriers, but it will take time for average customers to switch to 5G. China Telecom has confirmed that 4G to 5G would still take 3-4 years. Chen Zhihong, deputy general manager of China Telecom Shanghai, said at the parallel sub-forum of China Urban Digital Economy Forum·2020 that the three operators had effectively frozen 4G network investments and that new investments could be made in 5G.

Basically, after about 30 months, average individuals just update their cell phone. Before we can upgrade the 4G cell phone consumers have to 5G, it will take at least 3 to 4 years.

The 4G network will also be used after the 4G investment is frozen. Chen Zhihong said the 4G network would not be discontinued within 5 years and there will be no major blind spots. Users should be assured that 4G and 5G can be used.

Not long ago, Wen Ku, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in an interview that our target set at the beginning of the year is to provide 5G coverage for all cities and towns, and that about 580,000 5G base stations have been added this year to facilitate the construction and sharing of a total of 330,000 5G base stations.

From January to November this year, 5G mobile phone shipments in the domestic market reached 144 million units, accounting for 51.4% of the overall share, and the number of 5G terminal connections has exceeded 200 million.
