The physical wallet is slowly becoming less essential as smartphones take on more of the things people once carried everywhere. Payment cards, boarding passes, loyalty cards, tickets, keys, and now government-issued identification can all live inside a single device. Virginia residents with eligible identification can open Apple Wallet, tap the + button, choose Driver’s License or State ID, select Virginia, and follow the verification process. The setup requires users to scan both sides of their physical ID and complete identity verification.
