Acronis and OWC have teamed up to secure user backups from ransomware attacks

OWC and Acronis have announced a strategic agreement to integrate Acronis True Image applications into OWC storage solutions. The OEM app from Acronis is developed to secure users’ backup data and help them recover from disruptive attacks. It monitors ransomware and encryption hijacking attempts in consumer applications in real time using artificial intelligence-enhanced anti-ransomware technologies.

The app can learn from normal actions by tracking the user’s system, allowing it to spot patterns that could indicate warfare. Last year, the solution stopped over 600,000 ransomware attempts, according to Acronis.

Acronis True Image OEM is capable of safeguarding images, files, programs, recordings, and systems, among other things. Users can create “set and forget” backups, which automate backups on a regular basis. Acronis may also be configured to track significant data changes in the system and generate backups if required.

A single file or the whole device can be restored in only a few clicks if the user requires it.

Acronis True Edge OEM is compatible with SoftRAID-enabled OWC storage solutions and will be compatible with other OWC storage solutions in the future.

Users who have bought OWC storage systems will download the app for free from the MacSales website:
