Apple today reported that College Futures Foundation President and CEO Monica Lozano has been elected to the board of directors of the organization. Lozano will continue to serve on the boards of Aim and Bank of America, and is a longtime Walt Disney Corporation board member as well.
“Monica has always been a true leader and pioneer in business, media, and the ever-expanding philanthropy circle to achieve a fairer future-in our schools and in the lives of everyone,” said Apple CEO Di M-Cook. “Her values and rich experience will help Apple continue to grow, innovate, and become a force in the lives of our team, customers, and community.”
“I have always admired Apple’s commitment to the philosophy that technology, at its best, should empower everyone to improve their lives and build a better world,” said Lozano. “I look forward to working with Tim, Art and other board members to help Apple carry forward these values and build on its rich and fruitful history.”
According to Apple, before joining the College Futures Foundation, Lozano worked in the media field for 30 years as the editor and publisher of La Opinión, the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the United States.
