In order to grasp pay television’s viewership status, the CAB-J has carried out a mechanical pay television touch rate survey since 2007. In April 2021 pay TV patterns will be isolated and aggregated by Video Analysis, and data will be given as the National Pay TV Survey for “TV Touch score” from the viewer rating for 32 districts around the country.

We are striving to improve reliability and convenience by utilizing the survey panel used for terrestrial and BS free broadcasting and increase the value of pay TV advertising.

With the renewal of the survey system in April 2021, the length of individual surveys is five-and-a-side (now 12 weeks per year and the gathering of data every minute (now obtained every five minutes) will be possible. It will apply to 32 districts and 47 prefectures nationwide and will include 5 districts (Kanto, Kansai, Nagoya, Northern Kyushu, Sapporo).

The number of households assessed will also rise as the sample region increases. At present the measured household number is 600, but the latest survey anticipates that some 2000 households will receive pay TV touch info.
