Dota is known for its depth and discovery, as the community knows. They’re the reason we have fun. However, that depth comes with it a slew of new information to process and absorb, and the early stages of Dota discovery can be overwhelming. True, Dota’s highs are unexpected and joyful, but it can be difficult for new players to sift through all of the information and find clear paths to positive outcomes. The purpose of today’s update is to assist with this.
Because there are so many paths to victory in Dota, there are numerous ways to learn and play. Some players prefer to learn the ropes with friends right away, while others prefer to soak up as much information as possible before jumping into multiplayer. Overall, different players have different needs, and we’ve discovered that linear tutorials alone are ineffective at teaching people how to play the game. Instead, we believe that a mix of different tools and resources has the best chance of assisting new players in learning based on their unique needs.
