The next flagship phone, the Galaxy S21 / S30 series, is expected to be launched by Samsung in 2021. However, the SoC to control the latest computer has not been released yet. The next-generation flagship processor could be called Exynos2100, according to early reports. However, recently , a new qualification suggests that there might be another Exynos in development.
According to MySmartPrice, the current Exynos 981 name appeared in the non-profit standards organization’s Bluetooth SIG certification. The list, which was published on October 30, was submitted by the Samsung Cambridge Solution Center (SCSC), a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics. The Exynos 981 definition indicates that to create a BT (Bluetooth) + Wi-Fi solution, it can be paired with a compliant RF solution and supports Bluetooth 5.2.
In addition, once Samsung releases the aforementioned Bluetooth 5.2-standard Exynos chip, it will be a minor update to the existing Exynos 980 and 990 SoC standards. Recall that the Exynos 980 SoC mid-range has the company’s first built-in 5 G modem. It is also likely that Samsung would put the 981 SoC (if it is true) above 980 as another mid-range cpu.
The director of the Samsung Semiconductor China Research Institute, however, recently confirmed that the firm would soon be releasing a new Exynos 1080 5 nm SoC that will also serve the mid-to-high-end market.
