From Village Curiosity to Tech Hero: My Journey as a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador
Hi, I’m Nirajan Acharya, a computer engineering student and Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador from Nepal. Growing up in a small village, life felt simple, and dreams seemed distant. But at 12, a small dummy phone from my father sparked a lifelong curiosity for technology.
As I matured, my childhood dreams evolved. I yearned for something meaningful, something that could give back to the community that nurtured me. One day, I stumbled upon the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program online. It felt like the perfect fit!
Joining the MLSA program wasn’t just about gaining knowledge and resources. It was a revelation about giving back. Inspired by the program, I volunteered for over ten international projects, utilizing my skills to save organizations thousands of dollars. It was about making a positive impact, one skill at a time.
Back home, I started conducting free training sessions for students in various colleges, sharing my knowledge and empowering them with valuable skills. During my holidays, I returned to my village to educate people about digital tools. My most recent session focused on using social media and AI tools for cybersecurity, promoting safe and effective technology use.
Fueled by a desire to help my community further, I designed a web-based emergency response app during my vacation. Donated freely to my municipality, this app has empowered people in need and brought a significant positive impact in emergency situations.
My journey, from a curious village kid to a tech contributor, has been transformative. As a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador, I’ve learned that with hard work and the right opportunities, anyone, regardless of background, can make a difference. My story is a testament to that. If you, too, have the potential to uplift your community, I encourage you to explore the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program.
