Italy’s Young Ethical Hackers Gear Up for European Cybersecurity Challenge in Turin

Italy’s national team of ethical hackers, comprised of 20 talented individuals aged 14 to 24, is set to compete in the European Cybersecurity Challenge in Turin from October 7th to 11th.

These young cybersecurity champions, selected from “The Big Game” training program organized by the Cybersecurity National Lab of Cini, have honed their skills in ethical hacking and are ready to face off against 40 other delegations.

The team, with 10 senior and 10 junior members, will be officially presented on September 13th at the Scuola alti studi superiori Imt in Lucca. The National Cybersecurity Agency, a staunch supporter of Team Italy, will be present to emphasize the importance of investing in the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

Bruno Frattasi, the Agency’s general director, highlighted the significance of the competition: “The Turin event is not just a game, but a window into the future and potential career paths. These young talents could be instrumental in protecting our digital infrastructure.”

Frattasi stressed the critical role of cybersecurity in modern society, stating, “The quality of our lives, the safety of our families, our savings, and our critical infrastructure all depend on cybersecurity. The strength of our national digital ecosystem is crucial to Italy’s standing on the global stage.”
