Microsoft is currently releasing a stable version of Edge 86, a few months after Edge 85, based on the 86 version of the Chromium rendering engine for Windows 10 and Mac users.
This upgrade provides a range of new enhancements and upgrades, including better password protection, enhanced uploading and better PDF reading interface, but the best new feature for mainstream users could be to upgrade the new tab page, which now enables the user to set a custom image as the page backdrop.
Set a custom picture for the background of the new tab page: Open a new tab page. Click “Settings”> “Page Layout”. Choose Custom>Background>Your own image.
Then Click Upload and select the image you want to set as your background.
IT Home understands that other helpful features in Edge 86 include reviewing the saved passwords and the list of stolen passwords in the cloud, manually loading IE mode websites, and setting Edge to “Ask me how to manage each download.” The PDF browser functionality also provides a table of contents, faster scrolling, and highlighter pen support.
