Samsung continues to enhance its ecosystem with the latest One UI 7.0 update, which introduces innovative features to seamlessly integrate Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Book laptops.
Phone as Webcam
One of the standout features in One UI 7.0 is the ability to transform your Galaxy smartphone into a high-quality webcam for your Galaxy Book laptop. This eliminates the need for a separate webcam, especially in situations where the built-in laptop camera may not suffice.
To enable this feature:
1. On your Galaxy phone: Navigate to Settings > Connected devices and toggle on Camera Share.
2. On your Galaxy Book: Open Samsung Settings > Connected devices > Camera share.
Ensure that Bluetooth, Camera Sharing, and Wi-Fi are activated on both devices for optimal performance.
Seamless File Access with Storage Share
Another exciting addition to One UI 7.0 is Storage Share. This feature allows you to conveniently access and browse images, videos, and files stored on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet directly from your Windows 11 PC, without the need for a physical USB connection.
While Storage Share is currently not active on Galaxy S24 devices running One UI 7.0 beta, Samsung is likely to introduce it in future updates.
What Undercode Says:
Samsung’s continued focus on ecosystem integration is a commendable move. By introducing features like Phone as Webcam and Storage Share, the company aims to streamline user experiences and enhance productivity across its devices.
However, it’s worth noting that similar functionalities can be achieved using Microsoft’s Windows Phone Link app. While Samsung’s native solutions offer a more seamless experience within the Galaxy ecosystem, users who prefer a more versatile approach may opt for Windows Phone Link.
