The slim and light cell phone flagship, from “mainstream” to “heterogeneous”

The Android brand’s creativity has frequently amazed us in the past two years. Not only has the inclusion of large camera modules, under>>screen fingerprints, high refresh rate displays, 100>>watt wireless charging and other features set off a round of military battles, but it has also made users believe that sudden technological improvements are uncommon.

Nevertheless, relative to the chaos in the Android market, Apple is quite abandoned. For its lack of creativity, the redesigned iPhone 12 was mocked. 5G, which was one year late, struggled to save Apple’s poor signal from fact. While the iPhone 12 deceives geeks, the iPhone 12 is not so unbearable for the masses, though Apple offers it a special advantage, slim and compact relative to the Android flagship.

The iPhone 12 is 11 percent thinner compared to the iPhone 11, 15 percent smaller, and 16 percent lighter, from 194 grams to 162 grams, which makes people think of the age of iPhone 4s and iPhone 5. It also won the applause of the small>>screen group with its incredibly slim frame following the introduction of the smaller iPhone 12 mini. To surpass the SE generation, it should be no problem for the overall sales (30 million units).

Android got more puzzled after Apple succeeded in “slimming”. Not only did they use wide screens of 6.5 and 6.7>>inch, they have raised their weight a lot. As an example, let’s take Mi 10. It is fitted with a massive 4500mAh battery, but it also has a 162.6×74.8×8.96mm body dimension. Mi 10 is not easy to pick up, with a thickness of almost 9mm and a weight of 208g. Xiao Lei claims, though, that while more smart phones will start selling slim and light next year, the flagship models of different manufacturers will still adopt this year’s “bulky” product features.

Trend in Future Growth

The slim and light body, embedded in reality, will still not become the absolute mainstream in 2021. There are two main reasons that keep makers of cell phones from being smaller and lighter: battery life and taking photographs.

Battery life is the only. A cell phone fitted with a 4000mAh battery can already be called a giant of battery life two years ago, but the Android flagship this year can only be counted as not wasted, and even a little thin. The battery life of this year’s flagship has seen a general regression relative to last year with the launch of elevated screen refresh and 5G functions.

In the main longevity test performance, high screen refresh would carry two hours of battery life attenuation at a modest level of usage, not to mention the high 5G power consumption.

So we saw a batch of 5000mAh big battery models taking the stage in the second half of this year, and the capacity of the flagship phones started to climb steadily. Two days ago, the two phones suspected of being launched next year in the Redmi K40 series went online. 4780mAh and 4970mAh are their battery capacities. They have been more strengthened compared to the 4500mAh of the K30 series and have now touched the 5000mAh edge.
