The Problem: Confusion Over AirPods Noise Modes
As a dedicated AirPods Pro 2 user, I rely on them daily, but there’s one frustrating issue I constantly encounter—switching between noise modes efficiently. Apple provides multiple noise control options, but the process of confirming or changing modes isn’t as seamless as it should be.

- Using Shortcuts, I created a Set Noise Control Mode action that instantly enables Active Noise Cancellation.
- I then added this shortcut to Control Center as a custom button.
Now, with a single tap in Control Center, noise cancellation is immediately activated. If it’s already on, it stays on—no guessing, no extra steps.
For those who frequently switch between modes, you can create separate shortcuts for Transparency, Adaptive Audio, and Off, giving each its own dedicated button in Control Center. It’s like having a custom AirPods control panel.
For me, a single noise cancellation shortcut was all I needed to solve this long-standing inconvenience.
